Gone are the days when musicians are paid to carry gear and sell beer for live music venues. You are an artist, and the local, regional, and national music industry has evolved over the years. Venues are paying the same rates as they did in the 1970’s. Professional artists are being undercut by newcomers that are willing to play for free.

Original music has been pushed out of the live music venues in favor of cover bands. Musicians and artists are being asked by venues to advertise and promote the venue, the menu and the drinks free of charge.
